Abstract:

Introduction: Problems and issues related to obesity are not limited to medical and physical conditions; rather, obesity has a profound effect on the functional capacity and health-related quality of life. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of obesity on various aspects of health-related quality of life. Methods: In this review study, the relationship between obesity and health-related quality of life, internal and external articles and dissertations were written between 1980 and 2019 were reviewed. . The search for articles was done through the use of Magiran, Google Scholar, SID, Proquest, Irandoc and databases. The keywords used in the searches included obesity, overweighting, quality of life, health-related quality of life. Results: Through the analysis of aforementioned points, all four physical, psychological, social and environmental dimensions of health-related quality of life are negatively affected by obesity. Conclusion: These findings can serve as the basis for improvement of health-related quality of life of obese people in various dimensions.
